As COVID-19 variants rip through our community, the stakes for achieving herd immunity through vaccinations have never been higher. Overcoming public distrust is key for boosting vaccine uptake, and that work will fall largely to local clinicians and community health professionals. Join expert speakers as they share proven policies, resonant messages and credible messengers for improving vaccine acceptance. Includes a discussion of health equity and a summary of the risks and benefits of available vaccines.

Heidi Steeves, MHA
Heidi Steeves is the Executive Director for the Oregon Patient Safety Commission. Driven by a passion for improving healthcare, she has over a dozen years of experience leading at health-related companies and organizations across the United States. Her diverse background in operations, finance, and leadership includes experience leading as the Senior Director for Ambulatory Quality and Patient Safety at Kaiser Permanente, where she worked the past nine years, including several roles in Specialty Care Operations. Heidi is currently on the Board of Directors at Albertina Kerr and the Sloan Program Alumni Board at Cornell University.

Teresa (Tracy) Foo, MD, MPH, MBA
Teresa (Tracy) Foo is a Vaccines Medical Director, Pfizer Vaccines US Medical Affairs. Dr. Foo is committed to increasing vaccine confidence and immunization rates. She attended medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine and completed her master’s degree in public health and preventive medicine residency at the University of Colorado. She is board certified in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health, and completed an Executive MBA for Physicians at the Heller School, Brandeis University. She lives in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Johanna B. Warren, MD
Johanna B. Warren is the Interim Director of Oregon Health & Science University’s Center for Women’s Health, and an Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University, and has been an academic faculty member since that time. Dr. Warren’s clinical and research interests combine primary care for women with a clinical focus on wellness and disease prevention, and an academic system focus on system alignment and quality improvement. Dr. Warren is particularly interested in the longitudinal care of women and how a woman’s reproductive plans represent a unique opportunity for health of both a woman and her family. During this COVID pandemic, she has been leading many efforts around COVID-19 testing, including serving as the medical director of the drive-through testing centers and serving as co-chair of OHSU’s Clinical COVID Lab Taskforce.

Chime Nnadi, MD, PhD
Chime Nnadi is Senior Medical Director, Vaccines at the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. In this role, he oversees U.S. Medical Affairs efforts to prepare for the potential introduction of vaccines across multiple disease areas, including the investigational COVID-19 vaccine. Prior to joining Janssen, he served as Medical Director, Global Vaccines, for New Products and Vaccines at Merck. Dr. Nnadi has a medical degree from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, a Master of Public Health from the University of Wolverhampton, England, and a Master of Science (Epidemiology) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Public Health) from the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, he studied at the Institut Pasteur, Paris, obtaining a Diploma in Vaccinology.
